BANGKA -- Nazwa Safitri smiled shyly as her name was called to receive assistance from PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk during the company’s Ramadan Safari event in Pemali, Bangka Regency, on Tuesday (February 24, 2026).
The student of SDN 15 Pemali was one of 150 orphans in Bangka Regency who received assistance from PT TIMAH during the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijri.
Nazwa, a resident of Pemali Village and an orphan, symbolically received the assistance from the President Director of PT TIMAH Tbk, Restu Widiyantoro, together with the Director of Finance and Risk Management, Fina Eliani, and the Director of Operations, Handy Geniardi.
She expressed her gratitude for receiving the support from PT TIMAH during Ramadan. For her, the assistance is a blessing that will help her family meet their daily needs, as she lives with her mother and two younger siblings.
“I’m happy. Alhamdulillah, we received this assistance. I hope PT Timah continues to support orphans,” she said.
According to Nazwa, the assistance will be used to purchase food supplies for the family.
“It will be used to buy rice, cooking oil, and other food ingredients so we can eat together as a family,” she said with a smile.
Meanwhile, the head of Taruna Setia Hamlet, Hiliyan, said that PT TIMAH frequently provides assistance to orphans in their area.
“There is often this kind of assistance during Ramadan. Today, five orphans in our hamlet received support from PT Timah. We hope this program will continue,” he said.
