The Company believes that Human Resources (HR) is one of the stakeholders and strategic business partners with a central position as the spearhead and determinant of the Company's success in realizing its vision and carrying out its mission. The presence of professional, competent, dedicated and intregated human resources will allow the Company to have a strong foundation to continue to grow, realize the targets set in the Company's Work Plan and Budget (RKAP) and participate in realizing sustainability goals.
Forced Labor
Referring to the Convention 29 of International Labor Organization (ILO), 'Convention on Forced Labor', 1930 and the Convention 105 of International Labor Organization (ILO), 'Convention on the Abolition of Forced Labor', the Company also ensures that PT TIMAH Tbk is free from the practice of forced labor. The Company has set working hours in accordance with the provisions of applicable labor laws so that employees have sufficient rest time. The provision is also stated in the Collective Labor Agreement (PKB) by implementing a shift work system in several of Company's operations. The need for employee shifts will be adjusted according to the work field conditions, if there is an overtime it will be calculated as overtime work. These rules are therefore intended to prevent ant acts categorized as forced labor.
Child Labor
The Company also complies with the provisions of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 13 of 2003 concering Manpower and ILO Conventions 138 'Convention on Minimum Age' (ILO Convention 138) and 182 'Worst Forms of Child Labor Convention' (ILO Convention 182). Application of these provisions regarding the prohibition of child labor is strengthended by implementation of a policy to recruit prospective employees in PT TIMAH Tbk, which is must be at least 18 years old. In addition, in accordance with the Decree of the Board of Directors No. 2070/Tbk/SK0000/2013-S11.2 dated December 31, 2013, the Company also stipulates the age requirements for participants of Management Trainee, namely “Age requirements for the appointment of employees from Management Trainee participants to become a permanent employee, must be at least 19 years old.”.
