Commitment & Policy (3-3)
The Company’s operational activities may cause changes to the landscape and the ecosystems of flora or fauna in its natural resource exploitation areas. Therefore, the Company is committed to ensuring that its operational activities have no significant negative impact on the biodiversity of the area. This commitment is proven by protecting the biodiversity of animals and plants in the Company’s operational area, which include a production forest area, by integrating management efforts as part of the Company's operational activities and business model. Operational Areas that are Adjacent to Protected Areas and Areas with High Biodiversity Value [304-1] 
The Company has mapped and identified the species around the operational area. The identification is based on the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN), CITES, and Permen LHK No. P 106 of 2018 concerning Protected Plant and Animal Species. This is carried out by the Company to maintain the biodiversity of the managed area. [F.10]

Furthermore, the Company has observed the diversity of plants and birds in various areas, including Mining Site Forest Area, City Forest and Muntok Mangrove Ecosystem, Air Jangkang Reclamation Village, Kehatiku Forest, and Kundur Mangrove Area, Batubesi Mine, Selinsing Reclamation Village, Kundur Metallurgical Unit, Kundur Metallurgical Unit, and Mangrove Ecosystem at Muntok Metallurgical Unit.

Biodiversity Management 
The Company carries out a rehabilitation program and establishes buffer zones to reduce the impact of its mining activities and accelerate the restoration of the area to its intended condition. This buffer area is established in a location directly adjacent to a protected forest area, in a watershed, and revegetated land that has been restored to tropical forest, complete with wild animals that inhabit it freely.  In 2022, the Company has carried out several efforts to maintain the biodiversity of the managed area, including: [304-3] 

  1. Conserving local trees in the mining area. 
  2. Rescuing protected animals. 
  3. Greening the Void with sea pones. 
  4. Restoring Penanas Island to prevent abrasion. 
  5. Restoring Post-Mining Critical Lands with Fruit Revegetation. 
  6. Collecting data and conserving trees and birds in the managed areas.
  7. Conserving Sambar Deers as one of the protected species. 
  8. Protecting and seeding various types of mangroves. 
  9. Planting mangroves with the communities to repair damaged lands and prevent abrasion using the mound technique. 
  10. Planting, embroidering, maintaining, and enriching plant species. 
  11. Building infrastructures and animal cages, planting various types of trees, and conserving plants and animals
