BANGKA BARAT - Darwis (58) could not hold back his emotions when he received the prosthetic leg for his wife Zainab (52) given by PT Timah Tbk, at the OR 1 building of the West Bangka Regional Secretariat, last Friday (26/11/2022).
This resident of Peleburan Sungaibaru Sreet, Muntok, West Bangka said that his wife's leg had to be amputated because she suffered from diabetes.
He said that in 2009 his wife suffered a stroke. A year later, in 2010 his wife was suffering from diabetes to this day.
"Alhamdulillah, my request was granted to PT Timah Tbk to buy a prosthetic limbs for my wife. My wife's leg was amputated because of diabetes, so she needs to be given a prosthetic leg," he said.
Dervish did not even think, his request could be granted quickly. In fact, he said, he only had the courage to apply for help because he often heard that PT Timah Tbk often provided assistance to people in need.
"I say a lot of thanks to PT Timah, this assistance is very helpful for my wife who has a prosthetic leg. Hopefully PT Timah will be more successful, can help local residents," he said.
The Regent of West Bangka H. Sukirman hopes that the prosthetic leg for his citizens will bring benefit for they who get it.
"We hope that the assistance in the form of purchasing prosthetic leg that PT Timah gave to Zainab's mother, can be useful. Thank you and always successful PT Timah," said Sukirman.
The prosthetic leg were handed over by the Head of Administration of UNMET Arif Yudianto to Agus (Zainab's husband) witnessed by Assistant I of the West Bangka Regional Secretariat Drs Ridwan and staff of the West Bangka Health Office. (**)
