PANGKALPINANG -- Homecoming Fun with BUMN 2024 facilitated by students provides an opportunity for Risky Ramadhan Harahap to gather with family at the Moment of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah in Karimun, Riau Islands Province.
Risky, an 8th semester student at a university in Yogyakarta, said that he originally planned not to return to his hometown, due to financial constraints. However, with the BUMN Fun Homecoming program facilitated by PT Timah, he was able to return home.
Together with 48 other participants who are members of the Riau Islands Student Family organization (KPMKR), they started their homecoming journey on Friday 29 March and arrived in Karimun on Sunday 31 March.
"Actually, I don't have any intention of going home because of finances. It costs quite a bit to go home, if you take a plane it's around IDR 1.5 million. Having this program can really help," he said.
According to him, this was his first experience participating in a BUMN homecoming facilitated by PT Timah and they had a lot of fun going home together even though the journey took up to two days.
"There was a lot of excitement because I made lots of new friends who were not only from Karimun. The trip didn't feel like it lasted two days because it was busy and lots of other excitement," he said.
He was grateful to be able to return to his hometown facilitated by the MIND ID PT Timah Mining Industry Holding Member. Not only going home, he was able to gain a lot of experience.
"Apart from being facilitated going home, we also get food for sahur and breaking the fast, snacks, medicine, and various other souvenirs. So we are very new to this program," he said.
In the future, he hopes that the BUMN Asyik BUMN homecoming program with PT Timah can continue so that it can help students who want to go home.
"Hopefully, this program will continue and the schedule can be adjusted to the same departure schedule as national holidays. So that more students can feel the benefits of this program," he said.
The Fun Homecoming Program with BUMN facilitated by PT Timah in 2024 provides a quota of 700 participants aimed at Bangka (Pangkalpinang, Muntok, Toboali, Belinyu) with a quota of 375 people, Belitung (Belitung and East Belitung) with a quota of 235 people and Riau Islands (Tanjung Balai Karimun ) with a quota of 50 people.
Meanwhile, departures are at several points starting from Jakarta, Bandung, Palembang, and Yogyakarta. The first departure will start on March 29.
