KARIMUN -- A mix of emotion and joy lit up Siti Hajar’s face when her name was called as one of the grand prize winners during PT Timah’s 49th anniversary celebration in Gemuruh Village, West Kundur District, Karimun Regency, on Sunday (July 20, 2025).
She never expected to win a motorcycle, the main prize from the anniversary festivities themed "For the Red and White."
To Siti, the motorcycle was more than just luck. It was an answer to her family’s needs. She shared that the motorcycle would be used by her child, who had been relying on an old, barely functioning bike.
“Alhamdulillah, I still can’t believe I won a motorcycle today. I’ve been praying that I’d be lucky enough to win one. This motorcycle will be used by my child to go to school, because until now, they’ve been using a broken-down bike. Maybe this is truly a blessing for my child. I’m deeply grateful,” she said emotionally.
Siti Hajar’s joy reflects the spirit of unity and compassion that colored PT Timah’s 49th anniversary celebration in Kundur. Beyond just a celebration, the event was a testament to PT Timah’s commitment to being present and meaningful in its operational areas.
Siti also expressed her appreciation and gratitude to PT Timah for its care and contributions to the well-being of Kundur residents. She hopes PT Timah will continue organizing impactful events for the community.
“Thank you so much to PT Timah for giving us, the people of Kundur, such fun entertainment and useful prizes. I hope PT Timah becomes even more successful and continues to bring good things to many people, especially us here in Kundur,” she added.
In addition to the motorcycles, hundreds of other exciting prizes were also given to attendees, including irons, fans, ovens, rice cookers, refrigerators, washing machines, and electric bikes. These prizes added even more excitement to the anniversary celebration in Kundur.
PT Timah’s Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, stated that the 49th anniversary events would take place across all of the company’s operational areas, including the Bangka Belitung Islands, Riau, Riau Islands, and Jakarta.
