EAST BELITUNG - Students from SMAN 1 Simpang Pesak, Hanging District, East Belitung Regency are enthusiastic about learning about the history of tin and PT Timah Tbk.
This group of students visited the Belitung Lenggang Hanging Production Unit Office, Hanging District, which was welcomed by Belitung Production Unit Coconut Achmad Haspani and his staff, Thursday (06/10/2022).
During this visit, the students received information about the history of tin, the mechanism, and management of tin mining, CSR activities, and PT Timah Tbk's contribution to the country, as well as land management efforts undertaken by PT Timah Tbk.
In addition to getting information, these students also visited the tin ore warehouse to see the acceptance of tin ore processing and processing, prepare for taking Oc balance and microscopes, and determine SN/chemical levels.
Next, visit the Selinsing Reclamation village to see the environmental management efforts made by PT Timah Tbk.
The Head of the Student Council of SMAN 1 Simpang Pesak, Fitriani was impressed by PT Timah Tbk in Gantung, because they could know about tin, from history to revenue contribution to the country.
"After this visit, we know how the tin starts from being mined to metal and so on," said Fitriani.
With this visit, they can get education about tin. She hopes that PT Timah Tbk can develop and continue to utilize natural resources.
The head of TU SMAN 1 Simpang Pesak, Yanto said, the visit was a follow-up to learning, so it was not only at school but also field visits.
They chose PT Timah Tbk because according to Yanto, PT Timah Tbk is the largest company in Belitung Island, so they want to visit and learn more about tin and PT Timah Tbk.
"We invite students in grades 11 and 12, specifically for student council management," he said.
Yanto explained that they were very grateful and grateful to PT Timah Tbk for accepting them.
"It turns out that there are still many things that we don't know about tin, so far what we know is after we get in we sell it directly, but at PT Timah Tbk we know all the processes," he explained.
