CENTRAL BANGKA -- Welcoming the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on Saturday 17 August 2024 and the 48th anniversary of the Company, PT Timah distributed 480 pieces of red and white flags to residents in Batu Be Lubang Village on Wednesday (14/8/2024).
The distribution of the Red and White Flag from PT Timah is a form of the company's commitment to fostering a spirit of nationalism and pride as an Indonesian citizen.
This activity is also in line with the Minister of State's Circular regarding the Submission of Themes, Logos and Participation in Celebrating the 79th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence in 2024, the public is encouraged to install Red and White Flags simultaneously in their respective environments.
Apart from distributing red and white flags, PT Timah employees also participated in placing red and white flags in residents' homes.
The Head of Batu Be Lubang Village, Akhirman, said that the flags given by PT Timah would be distributed to the people in their village.
"Flags will be distributed to people who don't have flags or who haven't put up flags. With the PT Timah flag, God willing, residents in our village can put up flags," he said.
According to him, the people in their village are also enthusiastic about receiving the flag from PT Timah, especially welcoming the Republic of Indonesia's 79th anniversary on August 17.
"Once again we would like to thank PT Timah for helping the residents of our village. "PT Timah really cares about not only providing flag assistance but providing medical assistance and assistance to mosques," he said.
In the future, he hopes that PT Timah's synergy and collaboration can continue to provide benefits to the community.
Meanwhile, Head of Corporate Communications, Anggi, said that this activity was part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program which aims to bring the company closer to the community and foster a sense of love for the country among the community.
The 480 flags distributed to the public were also part of PT Timah's 48th anniversary.
"The company also celebrates Indonesia's independence in a simple but meaningful way. Through this flag distribution, we hope that people will become more proud of their identity as Indonesians," he said. (*)
