SOUTH BANGKA -- To help meet the community’s food needs ahead of Idulfitri, PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk distributed 600 basic food packages to residents in need in South Bangka Regency.
Previously, thousands of food packages had also been distributed by PT TIMAH to communities in other operational areas such as Kundur, Bangka, West Bangka, and Belitung.
The food assistance was symbolically handed over during the Safari Ramadan event at the South Bangka Area Office last Friday, presented by PT TIMAH’s Director of Business Development, Suhendra Yusuf Ratu Prawiranegara, Director of Operations Handy Geniardi, and Commissioner M. Hita Tunggal.
This distribution of food packages is part of the company’s efforts to ease the burden on the community, especially in meeting basic needs ahead of the Idulfitri holiday.
One of the beneficiaries, Anita (49), a resident of Gadung Village, expressed her gratitude for the assistance. In her daily life, Anita helps support her family’s economy by making fish crackers.
“Alhamdulillah, I’m very happy to receive this food assistance. It’s very helpful, especially as expenses increase ahead of Eid. This is the first time I’ve received assistance like this from PT TIMAH,” she said.
She added that the assistance has helped ease her family’s burden, as they rely on the small business she runs for their daily income.
“With this food package, we are greatly helped. Thank you to PT TIMAH for caring about communities like ours,” she added.
This food assistance program is part of PT TIMAH’s commitment to carrying out its corporate social responsibility (CSR), particularly in its operational areas.
Through the Safari Ramadan program, PT TIMAH not only provides assistance but also strengthens its relationship with the community and brings blessings during the holy month of Ramadan.
In addition to distributing food packages, PT TIMAH also provided assistance for orphans, the underprivileged, Quran memorizers, mosque caretakers, and religious teachers.
