PANGKALPINANG -- Ahead of Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah, PT Timah employees are sharing happiness with the people of Pangkalpinang by distributing basic food packages.
Through an activity entitled 'Alms Employees Care for the Dhuaf (Sekapud),' Timah employees distributed more than one hundred basic food packages to the community in Pangkalpinang City, on Friday (5/4/2024).
These basic food packages were distributed to the poor, orphans, the elderly, and PT Timah retirees in Opas, Bukit Baru, and Ampui sub-districts, Pangkalpinang City.
Apart from distributing basic food packages, they also distributed takjil to motorists passing through the PT Timah head office area on Jalan Sudirman.
It is hoped that the distribution of necessities will help make it easier for the community to meet their food needs ahead of Eid. Apart from that, it is a form of concern from Timah employees for the surrounding community.
Sekapud Activity Coordinator Nita said this activity was an initiation from employees to share with the community, employees set aside their fortune to help others.
"It was initiated by employees, inviting each other and from the donations we bought basic food packages which were distributed to the elderly, poor, orphans, and people in need," he said.
He said this activity was also an effort to raise employee awareness to share with the surrounding community, especially in the PT Timah Head Office area.
"We are also coordinating with the Village Head so that this assistance is right on target, including distributing it to Opas Village. Hopefully what we do from Timah Employees can be useful for the community and also bring blessings to the company," he said.
Meanwhile, Lurah Opas Juni said, PT Timah distributed 50 basic food packages to people in their area. According to him, this activity is very appropriate, especially before Eid al-Fitr.
"Thank God, our residents today received basic food packages from PT Timah and this is a form of PT Timah's concern in sharing with each other. Thank you PT Timah for caring, having PT Tim here means making a real contribution to the Opas Indah community," he said.
One of the recipients of the basic food packages, Maiti (70), a resident of Opas Indah, admitted that she was very touched by the basic food packages from PT Timah. The reason is, that this really helps them.
"Alhamdulillah, I'm happy, blessings for PT Timah. Today we ran out of rice so there's no need to buy more rice because we got it from PT Timah," he said.
He prayed that PT Timah and Timah employees would always be given convenience and blessings in running their business.
"Grandma prays that PT Timah will continue to exist, so it can help people like this grandmother," she hoped.
In line with what Saiful said, he admitted that he was happy to get the basic food packages and help him meet his food needs.
"Thank you, Tin and PT Timah employees, for providing these necessities, especially since it's Eid. It's very helpful," he said. (*)
