BANGKA – As the holy month of Ramadan 2025 draws to a close, PT Timah continues to extend its support to the community through social initiatives, including the distribution of essential food packages. This time, 1,500 grocery packages were provided to residents in Bangka Regency.
The symbolic handover of these food packages took place at the Subdistrict Office in Sungailiat on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. The aid aims to help families meet their food needs as they prepare to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, which is just around the corner.
These packages are intended for the elderly, underprivileged individuals, orphans, and low-income families.
One of the recipients, Ibrahim Amar (76), from Jelitik Subdistrict, expressed his gratitude, emphasizing the significance of this assistance for the elderly and hoping that the program will continue annually.
"Alhamdulillah, I am very happy. This aid is highly beneficial for the elderly and widows. I hope this initiative continues every year as a form of PT Timah’s dedication to the community, the nation, and the country," he said.
"I also hope PT Timah’s business continues to thrive so they can keep helping the people of Bangka Belitung," he added.
Meanwhile, Heryani, the Head of Jelitik Subdistrict, stated that the community warmly welcomed PT Timah’s assistance, especially as Eid approached.
"We, the people of Jelitik, are deeply grateful. This aid is incredibly beneficial, particularly for those in need. PT Timah always responds to our requests for support, whether in cash or goods. May PT Timah continue to succeed," she expressed.
She also noted that PT Timah has been providing food aid and Ramadan donations for several years, even before she assumed her current position.
