BANGKA BARAT—On Thursday (12/12/2024), PT Timah provided assistance for the Christmas and New Year celebrations at TK Santa Maria, Mentok, Bangka Barat Regency, in support of fostering social values and celebrating major religious holidays.
TK Santa Maria will use assistance from PT Timah to organize activities for the 2024 Christmas and 2025 New Year celebrations.
Sumiyati, the Principal of TK Santa Maria, expressed her surprise at receiving support from PT Timah for their school activities.
"We didn't expect this, as it is our first time building a relationship and submitting a request for assistance to PT Timah. Their response was very positive," she said.
Sumiyati mentioned that the assistance would be used for student activities, including competitions to welcome Christmas and the New Year.
"This support from PT Timah will be utilized for children’s activities to celebrate Christmas and the New Year, such as parent-child competitions," explained Sumiyati.
She appreciated PT Timah’s support and hoped this synergy and collaboration would continue.
"We didn’t know before that PT Timah has many programs to assist the community. PT Timah is truly concerned about education and society. We are deeply grateful to PT Timah," she added.
Meanwhile, Restu Hutasoit, a teacher at TK Santa Maria, shared that PT Timah also educated the children and teachers on fire hazards and fire extinguishing techniques.
"PT Timah also educated us on fire hazards and fire extinguishing methods for the children and teachers. From there, we built a relationship and communication, and it turns out PT Timah has many social care programs," said Restu. (*)
