EAST BELITUNG – Welcoming Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri, PT Timah Tbk continues to distribute food packages for people in need in the company's operational areas.
The basic food packages were also distributed to the islands, in Belitung Island, for example, the basic food packages reached the residents of Buku Limau Village. To deliver this basic food package, the CSR Team of PT Timah Tbk had to cross the island using a fishing boat.
After traveling for about an hour, finally dozens of basic food packages arrived at Buku Limau Village, Manggar District, Belitung Regency, Monday (25/4/2022).
One of the staple food recipients in Buku Limau Village, Surti, was grateful for the assistance, because the aid could be used for daily needs, especially to meet food needs.
"Thank God, this is a fortune, it will be used for everyday purposes, and also for making cakes," she explained.
She hopes that PT Timah Tbk will continue to provide assistance to residents who need assistance.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Buku Limau Agung Village appreciated for providing basic food assistance, because the assistance had a huge impact on the community.
"The people of Buku Limau Village are grateful, especially the widows and our poor people," he said.
Similarly, the Manggar Sub-district Head Abdul Rachim appreciated the assistance from PT Timah Tbk, because as many as eight villages in the Manggar District received the assistance from PT Timah Tbk.
"We would like to thank PT Timah Tbk, for the assistance to the community in Manggar, especially the eight villages where the production location of PT Timah Tbk is," he said.
Previously, PT Timah Tbk had distributed 1500 food packages on Belitung Island to the elderly and economically disadvantaged communities in the company's operational areas. This basic food package assistance began to be distributed on Monday (18/4/2022).
