WEST BANGKA -- The emotional bond between PT TIMAH Tbk and communities in the company’s operational areas remains strong to this day. This is reflected in the company’s support for the Alumni Gathering of Former Kapal Darat (KD) Complex and Former Bendul UPTB Timah.
PT TIMAH Tbk distributed rice assistance during the event titled Silaturahmi Balek Kapong (Reunion) of KD and Bendul Alumni. The rice was later distributed to elderly residents as part of activities held at the Cepakek Kolong Educational Tourism site.
In addition to serving as a reunion, the event also featured various social activities, including community clean-up efforts and social services for residents in need.
Samini, Public Relations Officer of the KD and Bendul Alumni Community, explained that this year’s gathering was organized in collaboration with the Air Limau Village Government as part of the Air Limau Village Tourism Potential Expo, which took place from Friday to Sunday, December 19–21, 2025.
He noted that during this year’s event, PT TIMAH Tbk provided rice assistance that was distributed to elderly individuals, particularly former workers of UPTB KD and Bendul.
“The assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk was distributed to elderly people who previously worked at UPTB KD and Bendul,” he explained.
Samini added that at every alumni gathering, PT TIMAH Tbk consistently demonstrates its care through various forms of support, including funding for activities and social assistance.
“We would like to express our gratitude for PT TIMAH Tbk’s concern. Every year, the company is always present and supports the KD and Bendul alumni gathering,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rizal, Chairman of the 2025 Balek Kapong Reunion Committee for KD and Bendul Alumni, also expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk’s consistent contribution in supporting social activities within the alumni community.
“This reunion aims to strengthen ties and maintain togetherness among the extended family of former KD and Bendul members. We hope PT TIMAH Tbk will continue to support alumni social activities in the future,” he stated.
Through this support, PT TIMAH Tbk reaffirms its commitment to maintaining harmonious relationships with the company’s extended family and surrounding communities, as part of its social responsibility and the enduring values of togetherness upheld on an ongoing basis. (*)
