BANGKA -- The health walk event organized by PT Timah Tbk to commemorate its 49th anniversary in Belinyu, Bangka Regency, took place vibrantly and colorfully on Sunday (August 10, 2025).
Not only serving as a platform for group sports activities, the event also provided residents with an opportunity to showcase their creativity through unique costumes that captivated the attention of participants and spectators at the PT Timah Healthy Walk Week, themed “For Red and White.”
Among the thousands of participants, several residents stood out by wearing uniquely designed costumes made from recycled materials.
One such participant was Sumitro, a resident of Belinyu Village, who appeared in a costume modeled after PT Timah Tbk's Health Vehicle. Using cardboard, he created a miniature version of the Health Vehicle.
“I was very enthusiastic, so I made a costume modeled after the Health Vehicle. This is also my hope that the PT Timah Health Vehicle can come to our area,” he said.
He spent three days preparing the costume, which is why Sumitro became one of the focal points of PT Timah Tbk's Health Week event. “It's also a pleasure that we were given souvenirs from PT Timah for wearing this costume. May PT Timah continue to thrive,” he said.
Similarly, Juan, one of the children who appeared in a dance costume, said, “I'm very happy to be able to participate in this event. I hope PT Timah continues to grow and prosper.”
Juan's appearance was made complete with a headdress bearing the inscription “PT Timah's 49th Anniversary.” On the back, Juan attached the words “49th Anniversary for the Red and White. May PT Timah continue to prosper.”
This resident from Belinyu explained that the costume was made by his father to celebrate the 49th Anniversary of PT Timah.
“My father made it for this event,” he said.
The 49th Anniversary Health Week of PT Timah was held in the company's operational area, following events in Bangka District, Belitung, Kundur, and will be held in South Bangka District on Saturday (August 16, 2025).
The series of activities during PT Timah's Health Week, held in the company's operational area, include a health walk, zumba, blood donation, and a small and medium enterprise (SME) bazaar. (*)
