BANGKA SELATAN — An atmosphere of emotion and happiness colored the series of Ramadan Safari activities held by PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk in Toboali, Bangka Selatan Regency on Friday (March 13, 2026).
During the Ramadan Safari, PT TIMAH also provided educational scholarships to Qur’an memorizers (tahfiz) in the company’s operational areas as a form of support for young people pursuing religious education.
The scholarships were given to five tahfiz students in Bangka Selatan and were symbolically handed over directly by PT TIMAH’s Director of Business Development, Suhendra Yusuf Ratuprawiranegara, Director of Operations Handy Geniardi, and PT TIMAH Commissioner M. Hita Tunggal.
One of the Qur’an memorizers who received the assistance, Fadillah (15), a second-year student at Ma’had Utsman Bin Affan Islamic boarding school in Koba, expressed gratitude for the support provided by PT TIMAH.
Fadillah began memorizing the Qur’an at the age of 13. So far, he has successfully memorized six juz (sections) of the Qur’an.
“Sometimes memorizing feels easy, but at other times it is difficult, especially remembering the letters. I usually repeat my memorization every day to keep it strong. For one juz, I usually need about a month,” he explained.
He admitted that he did not expect to receive the assistance. For him, the scholarship serves as motivation to continue improving his Qur’an memorization.
“I am very grateful and did not expect to receive this help. Hopefully it will motivate me to continue memorizing the Qur’an,” he said.
Similarly, Revan Noverdi (15) expressed his appreciation to PT TIMAH for showing attention to Qur’an memorizers.
“Hopefully PT TIMAH will continue to prosper, and thank you for giving me this assistance. At first I didn’t expect to receive it, and I will save the money,” said the second-year junior high school student.
Through the Ramadan Safari program, PT TIMAH not only strengthens its relationship with the community but also demonstrates its commitment to supporting religious education and encouraging the emergence of young generations who love and memorize the Qur’an. (*)
