Two Years in a row, STANNIA Magazine PT Timah Tbk Wins Gold Winner InMA

PANGKALPINANG – 'STANNIA' magazine managed by PT Timah Tbk again won the Gold Winner award in the Inhouse Magazine Awards (InMA) category of Best BUMN E-Magazine in 2022 organized by the Press Company Union (SPS) which was held in Yogyakarta, Tuesday (29/03/2022).

Stannia Magazine PT Timah Tbk which won the Gold Winner is the March-April edition with the main topic 'Restocking Squid at golden mouse'. In this edition, the main coverage is the sea reclamation efforts carried out by PT Timah Tbk by restocking squid.

Through this edition, Stannia conveys information about the sustainable reclamation program carried out by PT Timah Tbk both on land and at sea. One of them is sea reclamation in the form of squid restocking as an effort to enrich the squid population in the Bangka Sea. Meanwhile, other forms of sea reclamation carried out by PT Timah Tbk are artificial reef sinking, mangrove planting and the construction of abrasion-resistant embankments.

Previously, in 2021 PT Timah Tbk's STANNIA magazine also won the Gold Winner award in the March-April edition. PT Timah has also won the Silver Winner award at the 2017 InMA event in the October 2016 edition. Not only that, in 2019 it also won the same title in the September-October 2018 edition.

The award held by the Press Company Union (SPS) is an annual event held to give appreciation to members of the press. This year SPS carries the theme 'Maintaining Journalism, Strengthening Nationalism' by presenting eight professional judges with 581 participants.

As in previous years, the SPS Awards presented four categories, namely the Indonesia Print Media Awards (IPMA), Inhouse Magazine Awards (InMA), Indonesia Student Media Awards (ISPRIMA), and Indonesia Young Readers Awards (IYRA).

The SPS Awards 2022 jury consists of: Ahmad Djauhar (Chairman of the Commission for Research, Data Collection & Press Ratification of the Press Council), Asmono Wikan (CEO of PR Indonesia), Danu Kusworo (Photo Editor of Kompas Daily), Ika Sastrosoebroto (CEO of Prominent PR), Oscar Matulloh (Independent Photojournalist), Mas Sulistyo (Design Director DM ID), Nina Mutmainnah (Chairman of the Department of Communication Science, FISIP UI), and Agus Sudibyo (Chairman of the Commission on Inter-Institutional Relations and Foreign Relations of the Press Council).

"Improving the quality in terms of design, layout, infographics, depth of content, sharpness of analysis, and novelty elements is considered to be able to attract new readers," said Agus Sudibyo, one of the jury.

However, regarding the work of media infographics, this member of the Press Council does not criticize too much.

"Don't let two pages contain pictures or infographics," he said.

The Secretary General of the Central SPS who is also a candidate for the elected Press Council member for the period 2022 - 2025, assessed that journalistic works produced by internal corporations/public institutions (owned media) are getting more mature.

“The courage to cultivate elements with a journalistic flavor is increasing from year to year. Likewise, the way participants process visual elements, so that internal media can compete with commercial magazines in terms of quality,” he said.
