EAST BELITUNG - Two residents in Manggar District, East Belitung Regency received medical assistance from PT Timah Tbk. This assistance is a concrete step by the company to help communities in the company's operational areas.
Assistance for medical costs from PT Timah Tbk was provided to Maryati and Rasiyah, to help reduce the medical costs for those who were battling illness.
Maryati's sister, Mulyati, said that Maryati is currently undergoing treatment in Jakarta, after previously undergoing treatment at the East Belitung Regional Hospital.
"Currently I have been in Jakarta for 3 months and I am struggling to be healthy," she said.
According to Mulyati, the assistance provided by PT Timah Tbk is very useful and will be used for medical and living expenses while in Jakarta.
"This is for the cost of medicine and food there," she said.
She appreciated PT Timah Tbk for providing assistance to their sister and hoped that PT Timah Tbk would continue to receive blessings.
"Thank you for helping our brother and wish you all blessings," she said.
Meanwhile, another recipient of medical assistance, Rasiyah (53), said that she had been suffering from the disease about a year ago.
Initially, the pain was not felt, but when examined it turned out to be suffering from a bone tumor.
"I was referred to Tanjung for a scan, then the results were indeed a bone tumor," she said.
At that time, she was advised to be referred to Jakarta to receive further services. However, because there were no costs, she was referred to Bangka.
"So we were at Seokarno Hospital for about a month and we were immediately treated there for 4 hours," she said.
She was grateful, after the operation the condition began to improve, but the skull had to be surgically reattached because otherwise, the pair would be too dangerous.
So, PT Timah Tbk's assistance will be used for another operation, but before that, a CT scan will be carried out first.
"This is for this operation. Thank God we received assistance from PT Timah Tbk and this really made things easier and helped a lot," she said.
