Tracing the History of Tin at the Pangkalpinang Indonesian Tin Museum

Chairman of MTI Pangkalpinang Taufik said, at the Indonesian Tin Museum there are around 500 collections such as tin mining tools, stones, excavation equipment, dredger bowls, excavation equipment, tin blocks, and various miniatures.

"We strive to continue to bring innovation so that there is always something new at the Indonesian Tin Museum. We combine it with a touch of technology so that it can attract the millennial generation to come to the museum," he said.

In addition, MTI also presented a City Tour using a Pownis vehicle, which was one of the most popular means of transportation at that time.

"Pownis city tour is also one of the attractions for tourists to come here because many people are nostalgic for this vehicle to visit historical places in the city of Pangkalpinang," said Taufik.

He added, from January to March 2023, 6,125 people visited the Indonesian Tin Museum.

In 2023, the Indonesian Tin Museum is included as one of the nominations for the 2023 Indonesian Enchantment Award (API) in the Historical Sites category.

"We also hope for support from everyone to support the Pangkalpinang Indonesian Tin Museum to be the best in the 2023 Indonesian Enchantment Award," he said.
