TANJUNG BATU -- PT Timah continues to promote sustainable environmental management activities, one of which is nature conservation. Still, on the occasion of World Environment Day, PT Timah again planted pine seedlings on Lubuk Beach, Lubuk Village, Kundur District.
After previously PT Timah Wilasi Kundur held mangrove planting and beach cleaning, this pine tree planting was carried out by Timah employees on Friday 7 June 2024.
The planting of pine seedlings around Lubuk beach is to beautify the area which is one of the tourist icons which is visited by many tourists, both local and foreign, such as Singapore and Japan as well as from China.
The Head of Lubuk Village, Rudiyanto, appreciated PT Timah for helping and supporting this pine planting activity to be realized and run smoothly.
According to Rudiyanto, planting pine trees is very important and necessary to prevent increasingly severe abrasion, especially as this location is a tourist destination for the people of Kundur Island and other areas.
"We from the village are also planning this location to make it more beautiful and comfortable to attract tourists to come here. It is hoped that in the future this pine tree can grow and develop well to beautify Lubuk Beach," he said.
According to Rudi, so far many foreign tourists from Singapore, Japan, and China have stopped at Lubuk Beach.
"We, the village government together with the community, are slowly improving and arranging this location to make it even more beautiful. Thank you for PT Timah's support," he said. (*)
