To Reduce Medical Costs, PT Timah Tbk Gives Aid for Pangkalpinang and Bangka Residents

PANGKALPINANG -- PT Timah continues to be committed to helping the community in the health sector. In addition to providing health services through Mobil Sehat, PT Timah Tbk also provides medical assistance for people in need.

This time, PT Timah Tbk handed over medical expenses for Pangkalpinang residents, namely Azalea Khaliqa (1) and Adinda Gianina (1) residents of Pangkalpinang City. In addition, assistance was also given to Muhammad Zikri (27) a resident of Merawang District, Bangka Regency.

Azalea Khaliqa suffered from Down Syndrome since birth, as well as a congenital disease, namely Hypothyroidism.

“When she was born, there were indeed signs that Azalea had Down Syndrome. The doctor suggested a blood test. After a blood test, the results showed that Azalea had hypothyroidism as well," said Azalea's parent, Rizki.

“Hypothyroidism causes Azaleas to be susceptible to disease because there is no immune system. Therefore, we always routinely check my daughter's blood and treat her eight times a month at Siloam Pangkalpinang Hospital," continued Rizki.

Furthermore, he explained that due to Hypothyroidism, Azalea also suffered from digestive and lung disorders. With pain like this, decided that Azalea must take medicine for life so that her condition gets better.

Rizki is very grateful to be able to get help from PT Timah Tbk. Where this help will be used for routine medical needs carried out by Azalea.

"Thank God, I am very grateful for the assistance provided by PT Timah because I don't have to look for loans anymore. Thank you to PT Timah for helping," he said.

Similarly, Adinda Gianina's parents, Isti Komariah, told of her daughter suffering from nerve pain in her right hand after birth. Not only that, but Adinda also suffers from nerve pain in the right eye so it requires a lot of money for Adinda's treatment.

“My daughter was affected by a nerve in her right hand due to the birth process that I experienced because Adinda's weight at birth reached 4.2 kg, making it difficult for the midwife to expel Adinda. So the midwife had to pull and the nerves in her right hand and right eye were affected,” he said.

The right-hand nerve causes Adinda's hand to be unable to move. While the right eye causes Adinda's vision to blur on one side.

The medical expense assistance from PT Timah Tbk will be used for the needs of Adinda's surgery, transportation, and living needs while in the Hospital in Solo.

“Thank God, PT Timah has been very helpful. Thank you PT Timah for helping my daughter's medical expenses," he said.

PT Timah Tbk also provided assistance for Muhammad Zikri who suffers from Marfan Syndrome or a genetic disorder. Marfan's syndrome causes abnormalities in the bones and eyes that make Zikri's height reach 196 cm and he has used glasses when he was a child.

Zikri's wife, Nissy Amanda, said that Marfan Syndrome occurred when he was young. But at the age of 25 years spread to swelling of the heart and fluid in the lungs.

“At the age of 25, my husband's illness got worse, causing swelling of the heart and fluid in the lungs. Therefore, my husband's lungs were aspirated because if they were not aspirated, they would have difficulty lying down and sleeping,” she said.

Not only that, but Zikri has also experienced swelling near his vocal cords and is currently losing his voice. Due to this genetic disorder, he suffered complications.

Nissy said that her husband would be taken to Harapan Kita Heart Hospital in Jakarta for surgery.

According to her, they are very happy to hear the news which is help from PT Timah Tbk because she really needs money to make her husband's condition better.

“After hearing the news from PT Timah, we were very happy and touched because my husband's medical expenses were increasing. Thank you PT Timah for being kind to us and for helping us. We will use this assistance for medical needs and living expenses while in Jakarta,” he concluded.
