WEST BANGKA - To increase the catch of fishermen, PT Timah Tbk donated shrimp nets to the Batu Putih fishing group in Benteng Kota Village, West Bangka Regency.
The net assistance to fishermen groups was handed over by the Head of Micro Small Business Funding CSR PT Timah Tbk Sindhu Shahono Putra to the Chair of the Batu Putih Fisherman Group, Jamali, and witnessed by the Head of Benteng Kota Village, at the Benteng Village Government Office, Saprul City, Thursday (17/03/ 2022).
The head of the Batu Putih Fisherman Group, Jamali, said that the net assistance from PT Timah Tbk was very much needed by the fishing group. So it is expected to increase the catch.
“Alhamdulillah, thank you to PT Timah for providing net assistance to fishing groups. We really need this assistance to improve arrests," he said.
According to him, every season the fishing nets must be replaced in order to get maximum catches.
“For the net itself every season, it must be replaced in order to get more catches. Therefore, the net assistance by PT Timah means a lot to us,” he said.
He said that with the help of PT Timah Tbk, the capital that should have been used to buy nets could be used for other purposes.
"The capital we should have made for the net, now we can save it and use it for other purposes and we are very happy with that," he said.
Jumali expressed his appreciation to PT Timah Tbk for its concern for fishermen groups.
"We appreciate the assistance provided by PT Timah. Hopefully, this help will be of much benefit to us. Hopefully, PT Timah will be more advanced and successful and always help fishing groups in need," he concluded
Previously, PT Timah Tbk had also provided shrimp net assistance to the Batu Putih fishing group in 2020.*
