KARIMUN -- PT Timah Tbk continues to strive and be consistent in helping the community around the Company's Operational Area to help fishermen to increase their catch.
This time, through CSR PT Timah Tbk, distributed assistance to the Joint Business Group for Border Fishermen in Pongkar Village, Tebing District, Karimun Regency.
This financial assistance will be used to purchase nets which will be distributed to 12 members of the Joint Business Group for Border Fishermen.
"Thanks to PT Timah for the assistance given to our Border Fishermen Joint Business Group, this assistance will be used to buy shrimp nets and will be distributed equally to members of the Border Fishermen Joint Business Group," said Chairman of the Border Fishermen Joint Business Group, Suharto.
Suharto said that this assistance is expected to increase the catch of fishermen because their fishing gear has increased.
"This assistance can add fishing gear so that it is expected to increase our catch. Thank you PT Timah for the support and attention to the fishermen in Pongkar Village, Tebing District, and the people of Karimun district. Hopefully, PT Timah will continue to progress and develop," he said.
Similarly, one of the Management of the Maju Bersama Fishery Cooperative, Deni, expressed his appreciation to PT Timah for consistently distributing CSR to the community, as well as the Joint Business Group of fishermen who are members of the managed cooperative.
According to Deni, the Joint Business Group for Border Fishermen is a small fisherman who usually catches shrimp around the coast of Pelambung, Pongkar Village. So it is hoped that with this assistance members of the Joint Business Group for border fishermen will get additional nets or fishing gear which will have an impact on increasing catches.
