PANGKALPINANG -- The 2025 TINS Half Marathon, held in celebration of the 49th anniversary of PT Timah Tbk, was not only a sporting and entertainment event but also brought positive impacts for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the MSME Bazaar held at the PT Timah Tbk Head Office area in Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, on Saturday (August 23, 2025).
The presence of thousands of participants in the 2025 TINS Half Marathon was a blessing for MSME players and helped boost the local economy around the PT Timah Tbk office area.
Various MSMEs, ranging from food and beverages to sportswear products, were bustling with customers. The high enthusiasm of participants attending the 2025 TINS Half Marathon created opportunities for MSMEs to increase their sales while also introducing their products to a wider market.
In addition to generating higher revenue, MSME players also benefited from free promotion. Local products showcased in the bazaar attracted attention from participants outside the region, serving as an effective way to promote the potential of local economic products.
One of the MSME vendors at the TINS Half Marathon was Sofi, who sold refreshing drinks, fruit salads, and cookies.
“The MSME Bazaar in events like this really helps us promote our products. Alhamdulillah, today’s sales are quite good because we offer infused water and various cookies. This is truly an opportunity for both increasing sales and promoting our products,” she said.
Similarly, Kurnia also admitted experiencing an increase in sales of around 30–50 percent during the TINS Half Marathon.
“I happen to sell roselle tea, green tea, and regular tea, which really matched the sunny weather today. My sales increased by 30 percent,” he said.
He hopes PT Timah will continue to involve MSMEs in the future so they can keep promoting their products.
Not only MSME players but also other sectors such as transportation, lodging, and small vendors around the event benefited from this activity.
MSMEs play an important role in driving local economic growth. For this reason, PT Timah remains committed to supporting the development of MSMEs through its Micro and Small Business Funding Program (PUMK), which provides support in financing, business development, as well as product promotion and marketing.
