Tins Half Marathon 2025 Ready to Be Held, Here Are the Routes That Will Be Taken

PANGKALPINANG -- The Tins Half Marathon 2025, which will be participated in by thousands of runners, is ready to be held in the city of Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, on Saturday (August 23, 2025). This running event, which is part of the 49th anniversary celebrations of PT Timah Tbk, will take place from 4:30 AM to 9:00 AM local time, with the starting and finishing points at the PT Timah Tbk headquarters.

To ensure the smooth running of the Tins Half Marathon, the organizing committee has coordinated with the Transportation Department (Dishub) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Pangkalpinang Police Department to implement traffic diversions on several main roads in Pangkalpinang City. This is done to ensure the smooth running of the event while maintaining the safety of both runners and other road users.

Some routes will be temporarily diverted due to the thousands of runners participating in the 5K, 10K, and 21K categories, who will traverse the main roads of Pangkalpinang City.

Hikmat Selamet, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for PT Timah Tbk's 49th Anniversary, stated that his team has coordinated with all stakeholders, including the Transportation Department, Police, and running communities on Bangka Island, to ensure the smooth running of the event.

The Tins Half Marathon will be attended by thousands of runners, both local and national. This event not only commemorates the company's anniversary but also promotes a healthy lifestyle through regular exercise and supports sports tourism in Bangka Belitung.

“We have made thorough preparations, including coordination with the local government, relevant stakeholders, and the community. However, we sincerely apologize to the people of Pangkalpinang City and its surroundings if the implementation of the 2025 Tins Half Marathon causes any inconvenience during the event,” said Hikmat.

In addition to hosting the running competition, the organizing committee has also involved UMKM partners supported by PT Timah to enliven the event, making it not only a sporting event but also a means of supporting the local economy.

One participant, Doni Fahrum, welcomed the event enthusiastically. He hopes the weather and air quality along the route will be favorable, and the running path will be free of motor vehicles.

“I hope the air quality along the running route will be good, with minimal heavy-exhaust vehicles passing by. Of course, I also hope the event runs smoothly, and all participants can finish strong and cheerfully,” he said.

He is optimistic that PT Timah can successfully organize this running event. He also hopes that the Tins Marathon can become an annual regular event that grows in prestige each year, making it eagerly anticipated by many runners in Indonesia.

“I hope the event runs smoothly, and all participants can finish with full enthusiasm. I am confident that PT Timah will deliver a high-quality event that can become an annual routine eagerly awaited by runners in Indonesia,” he said.

With a spirit of sportsmanship and togetherness, the Tins Half Marathon 2025 is expected to serve as a catalyst for strengthening community bonds, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and showcasing the beauty of Pangkalpinang City to a wider audience.
