Tins Green Garden Foresttree, a Green Open Space Managed by PT Timah to Support a Healthy Lifestyle

PANGKALPINANG -- Tins Green Garden Foresttree, located in the PT Timah Tbk housing complex in Bukit Baru, Pangkalpinang City, is bustling with activity in the mornings and afternoons.

This green open space managed by PT Timah has become a popular spot for the community to exercise. The lush and shady environment encourages people to work out or simply relax in the area.

In addition to a jogging track, the park also offers various free sports facilities, such as a mini stepper for leg muscle training.

The area is also equipped with fun play facilities for children, including tire jumps, seesaws, swings, and many other types of playground equipment.

Open to the public, this park is PT Timah’s initiative to promote a healthy lifestyle, strengthen social interaction, and reinforce the company’s role as part of a sustainable social ecosystem.

Visitors can also observe a variety of flora and fauna in the park, including birds, chickens, and tall trees.

The park also features a water tank from the Dutch colonial era that still stands today.

Evi, one of the visitors, said she routinely exercises in the park at least three times a week. The shady atmosphere makes her feel comfortable staying longer.

"I come here regularly, usually in the morning, and in the afternoon on weekends. Jogging and walking here feels great because the air is fresh with all the trees. After running, I usually use some of the exercise equipment here. It’s comfortable and clean," she said.

According to Evi, the park gets even more crowded on weekends, not only with people working out but also with families spending time together.

"It's busier on weekends because sometimes people read books together, and there are a lot of kids playing. I hope this park remains open because it's really great for exercising and is well maintained," she added.

Similarly, Rena, a Kampak resident, said she often brings her children to play at the park on weekends.

"Sometimes I bring the kids here to play because they can also see birds and some other animals. It's safe for kids, and we can exercise at the same time," she said.
