WEST BANGKA – To enhance employee understanding of regulations and legal frameworks in the mining industry, as well as to improve corporate governance, PT Timah once again organized a Tins Series: Corporate Service workshop on Tin Mining Governance.
This Tin Mining Governance Workshop was held at the Division Processing and Refinery of PT Timah in collaboration with the West Bangka District Attorney's Office at the Majapahit Building on Thursday (October 3, 2024).
Previously, similar Tin Mining Governance Workshops had been held across all operational areas of the company, attended by employees.
This initiative is part of PT Timah's efforts to enhance the understanding and capabilities of its employees regarding Tin Mining Governance from a legal perspective. The goal is to ensure that employees can perform their duties optimally and in accordance with the prevailing regulations.
This session featured a guest speaker from the West Bangka District Attorney's Office, represented by the Head of Data and State Administration Section, David Sianturi.
PT Timah recognizes that as mining sector regulations become increasingly stringent, a solid understanding of legal aspects is crucial for all stakeholders.
During the discussion session, employees were given the opportunity to ask questions and share their experiences regarding challenges they face in implementing regulations in the field.
This workshop had also been previously held in several of PT Timah's operational areas, including East Belitung, Belitung, and other locations.
Head of Corporate Communications at PT Timah, Anggi Siahaan, expressed appreciation for the collaboration with the West Bangka District Attorney’s Office, which has been supporting and guiding PT Timah in conducting its business processes.
"We are grateful to the West Bangka District Attorney’s Office for collaborating with us to provide guidance and support, including in this workshop to improve the understanding of our employees in the effort to enhance tin governance internally from a legal perspective," said Anggi.
Anggi hopes that this workshop will help create a safer, more transparent working environment that complies with current regulations, as part of the company's ongoing efforts to improve governance. (*)
