PANGKALPINANG -- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is crucial in developing various aspects of community life. Therefore, PT Timah is committed to implementing corporate CSR in the Company's operational areas.
In carrying out CSR programs, PT Timah strives to develop sustainable community economies through community empowerment programs based on local potential.
As a member of the Mining Industry Holding MIND ID, PT Timah implemented several CSR programs in 2023 in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province and the Riau Islands Province.
CSR programs implemented by PT Timah in 2023 include community economic empowerment through the social innovation program of the PROTEIN NABATI (Integrated Program of Pineapple Innovation in Belitung Indonesia) Community Empowerment Program implemented in East Belitung, the captivating culture community empowerment program (Arab Chicken Farming and Merawang Environmental Perspective) implemented in West Bangka Regency, and the Seafarer Post Community Empowerment Program (Silvofishery Polyculture as Empowerment of Sawang Sea Fishermen) implemented in the Riau Islands Province.
In terms of environmental management, PT Timah's CSR program also includes mangrove planting. Not only that, but PT Timah also implements Fishing Ground, Coral Garden, squid attractor, and salt cultivation programs involving fishermen groups in the company's operational areas.
PT Timah's CSR also supports government efforts to combat stunting. Through the Kemunting program, PT Timah provides education on stunting prevention and management for students, pregnant women, and communities around the mining areas.
PT Timah also implements health initiatives with the Healthy Auto or Mobile Health program providing healthcare services to communities around mining areas. In 2023, 4,371 residents received healthcare services through this Mobile Health initiative.
To support the education sector, PT Timah, through the Pemali Boarding School program, provides education scholarships for communities around mining areas for high school levels, implemented at SMAN 1 Pemali, Bangka Regency.
This TINS issuer also supports disability education by providing operational support to the YPAC Pangkalpinang Foundation in 2023.
Furthermore, PT Timah's CSR also empowers the Indigenous Mapur community. This program is implemented sustainably, starting from building the Indigenous Village of Gebong Memarong, providing skills training through ecoprint training, weaving training, and tour guide training.
PT Timah also pays attention to fishermen and vulnerable groups, one of which is by providing social security through the Employment Social Security Agency (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan).
Anggi Siahaan, Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah, stated that PT Timah adapts the concept of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in implementing CSR.

Anggi added that PT Timah's CSR programs are also expected to be a lever for driving community economies and improving the quality of life of the community, as the programs are implemented in various sectors ranging from health, education, economy, social, and environment.

PT Timah's commitment to implementing this CSR program has also borne fruit, where in 2023 PT Timah Tbk won the Indonesia Best CSR Award 2023 from The Iconomics and the Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) LPP, as a success of the company in implementing social and environmental responsibilities (CSR) that have an impact on the community.
