WEST BANGKA -- Thousands of residents crowded the football field at the PT Timah Tbk Complex in Mentok to take part in the "Pekan Sehat" (Healthy Week) series, celebrating the 49th anniversary of PT Timah Tbk.
Carrying the theme “Untuk Merah Putih” (For the Red and White), the event served as a moment of unity and nationalism between the company and the people of West Bangka on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
Previously, PT Timah held a flag ceremony and thanksgiving for its 49th anniversary on August 2, 2025. The Healthy Week event had also been held in Kundur and East Belitung.
The series of activities began with a fun walk, a Zumba session, and stage entertainment. PT Timah also distributed hundreds of prizes to residents participating in the event.
The Healthy Week event in West Bangka was attended by PT Timah’s Director of Human Resources Andi Seto Gadhista Asapa, PT Timah Commissioner Rizani Usman, West Bangka Regent Markus, West Bangka Police Chief Pradana Aditya Nugraha, West Bangka District Attorney Bayu Sugiri, and other members of the West Bangka regional leadership forum (Forkopimda).
In his remarks, Director of Human Resources Andi Seto said the Healthy Week is part of the series of events commemorating the 49th anniversary of PT Timah Tbk. It is a moment for the company to share joy with the community.
“This year’s anniversary theme is ‘Untuk Merah Putih’. This momentum also celebrates the 80th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. The color red represents our courage to move forward together without hesitation for PT Timah’s glory, while white reflects sincerity in collaboration and sharing for a better future,” he said.
He expressed appreciation for the public’s enthusiastic participation in PT Timah’s Healthy Week. He stated that PT Timah remains committed to supporting development and contributing to the people of West Bangka Regency.
“Alhamdulillah, the public’s enthusiasm has been incredible. People came from various areas. We also ask for prayers and support from all community members for the company’s progress, so we can continue contributing to society,” he added.
Meanwhile, PT Timah Commissioner Rizani Usman expressed hope that PT Timah will continue to make its best contributions to communities in its operational areas.
Similarly, West Bangka Regent Markus appreciated PT Timah’s role and contribution in supporting the local community.
“Happy 49th Anniversary to PT Timah Tbk, and thank you for your contributions to the people of West Bangka. We hope PT Timah will continue to increase its positive impact for the community,” he said.
As part of the MIND ID mining industry holding, PT Timah Tbk also invited dozens of MSMEs to participate in a bazaar held alongside the event. This initiative is part of the company’s commitment to promoting local economic growth.
The 49th anniversary celebration of PT Timah Tbk has been ongoing since July 25, 2025, and will peak on August 24, 2025, in Pangkalpinang with various activities benefiting both the public and employees.
