The Warmth of Togetherness During Eid al-Adha at the PT TIMAH Residential Complex, Thousands of Meat Packages Distributed to Residents

PANGKALPINANG — PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk once again demonstrated its spirit of sharing and caring for the community during this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration. The Al Furqon Mosque, located in the PT TIMAH employee residential complex in Bukit Baru, distributed sacrificial animals to the community.

A total of 17 sacrificial animals, consisting of 11 cows and 6 goats, were slaughtered and distributed to residents living around the PT TIMAH employee housing complex as well as to people in need on Wednesday (May 27, 2026).

Chairman of the Al Furqon Mosque Qurban Committee in Pangkalpinang, Dwin Pambudi, stated that this year’s slaughter is expected to produce approximately 1,236 packages of qurban meat.

“The qurban meat will be distributed to residents around the PT TIMAH Bukit Baru Employee Housing Complex in Pangkalpinang,” said Dwin.

He explained that the meat distribution was carried out through neighborhood heads (RT/RW) and recipient coordinators in each area to ensure the process runs orderly and fairly.

According to him, this mechanism was also implemented to avoid crowding at the slaughter site.

“There will be no individual coupon collection at the slaughter location to prevent long queues of qurban meat recipients,” he said.

Acting Head of the Animal Health Center Unit (UPTD) of the Pangkalpinang Food and Agriculture Office, veterinarian Jamilah Idah Fatonah, also supervised the process at Al Furqon Mosque and stated that the slaughtered meat was fit for consumption.

drh. Jamilah explained that her team conducted post-mortem inspections after the slaughter process at several mosques, focusing on examining animal-based products such as meat and internal organs.

“The inspections are conducted to ensure that the sacrificial animals are healthy and that the slaughter results are safe for public consumption, and here they are suitable for consumption,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Department Head of Corporate Communication at PT TIMAH (Persero) Tbk stated that the Eid al-Adha momentum reflects the company’s commitment to continuously be present and share benefits with communities around its operational areas.

According to him, the qurban activities within the employee housing complex are not only a form of worship, but also a means of strengthening ties and togetherness between the company, employees, and the community.

“Through this Eid al-Adha moment, PT TIMAH hopes that the spirit of mutual cooperation, social care, and togetherness can continue to be maintained. The presence of these sacrificial animals is expected to bring benefits and happiness to the community,” he said.

He added that PT TIMAH continues to support various social and religious activities as part of the company’s contribution to communities in its operational areas.

This year, PT TIMAH distributed a total of 268 sacrificial animals across the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Riau Province, Riau Islands Province, and Jakarta. (*)
