PANGKALPINANG - PT Timah acknowledges the crucial role of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in driving the economy, creating job opportunities, and improving human resources quality. Since 2000, PT Timah has been actively supporting the self-reliance of MSMEs in its operational areas through the Micro, Small, and Medium Business Funding Program (PUMK).
Through the PUMK Program, PT Timah supports the availability of capital for MSME players, enhances the capabilities of MSMEs through mentoring and training programs, and promotes the marketing of MSME products through exhibitions and promotional events.
Thousands of MSME players in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Riau Islands Province, Riau Province, and Jakarta have benefited from PT Timah's PUMK program to develop their businesses. The program reaches MSME players from various sectors such as the creative economy, culinary, services, crafts, agriculture, fisheries, property, trade, and other sectors.
Consistently and sustainably, PT Timah's PUMK Program continues to assist MSMEs in developing their businesses. In 2023, PT Timah collaborated with Bank BRI to distribute capital loans to 191 MSMEs, totaling Rp6.8 billion. In the same year, 20 partner beneficiaries of PT Timah improved their status, evidenced by increased employment, turnover, and community involvement in product generation.
To expand the market for partner products, PT Timah frequently involves them in national and international exhibitions. PT Timah also markets MSME products through digital platforms such as the BUMN MSME Digital Market (PaDI), and enhances product marketing through the Tins Gallery and Serumpun Sebalai Gallery.
Anggi Siahaan, Head of Corporate Communication at PT Timah Tbk, stated that PT Timah Tbk is committed to driving national economic growth, including through the PUMK program, which is expected to stimulate community economic activity. In 2024, PT Timah will collaborate with BRI to distribute capital loans to eligible MSME players, demonstrating its commitment to supporting MSME independence and business development.
Anggi hopes that PT Timah's PUMK program can have a positive impact on society by creating job opportunities, empowering communities, and fostering the growth of the creative industry.

One of PT Timah's partner beneficiaries who has experienced the benefits of the PUMK program is Niko, a resident of Badau Village, Badau District, Belitung Regency.
Niko, who runs a layer chicken business, shared that through PT Timah's PUMK program, he not only expanded his layer chicken business but also ventured into other businesses such as a grocery store. In fact, Niko has utilized PT Timah's PUMK program three times, which helped his business development during the COVID-19 pandemic and supported his grocery store business.
He hopes that PT Timah will continue to support small entrepreneurs like them because they have felt the benefits firsthand in helping to develop their businesses.
