BATAM -- PT Timah Tbk continues to be committed to improving good corporate governance and implementing Good Corporate Governance (GCG) in carrying out the company's business processes.

For this reason, PT Timah together with the Riau Islands Province High Prosecutor's Office and the Karimun Regency District Prosecutor's Office signed a Cooperation Agreement Concerning Handling Legal Issues in the Civil and State Administration Sector which was held at the Marriot Harborbay Hotel, Thursday (1/8/2024).

This Cooperation Agreement was signed by the Main Director of PT Timah Ahmad Dani Virsal and the Head of the Riau Islands High Prosecutor's Office Teguh Subroto and the Head of the Karimun Regency District Prosecutor's Office Priyambudi.

The signing of the collaboration was also witnessed by the leadership of the Riau Islands Prosecutor's Office and the HR Director of PT Timah Hendra Kusuma Wardana. The scope of this Cooperation Agreement includes legal assistance, legal considerations, and providing other legal actions.

Head of the Riau Islands High Prosecutor's Office, Teguh Subroto, said that this collaboration is expected to increase synergy between the two parties so that they can carry out their duties and responsibilities in accordance with applicable regulations.

"The prosecutor's office has various roles and duties, including providing services, restoring state assets and others. And also providing assistance," he said.

He hopes that this collaboration can increase the synergy between PT Timah and the Prosecutor's Office to support each other in carrying out their respective duties.

"So far, the agreement has been going well, hopefully, this collaboration can encourage the success of our performance so that we can carry out our duties well," he said.

Meanwhile, PT Timah President Director Ahmad Dani Virsal said PT Timah continues to make improvements to adapt to the dynamics of the national tin business.

According to him, currently PT Timah's production performance is starting to improve, although the governance and trading system of tin is still changing and there are still many improvements.

"Thank you for the support and support of the Kepri Prosecutor's Office and the Karimun Prosecutor's Office who have provided assistance to PT Timah so that it will be better and law-abiding," he said.

Dani explained that currently, tin has become a strategic and critical commodity because there is not much of it in Indonesia or in the world. He gave an example, in the Riau Islands it is only in Karimun Regency.

Tin is also a mineral that is really needed by the world, especially to support the electronics industry. PT Timah has also carried out downstream in the form of tin chemical and tin solder.

He hopes that this collaboration can provide benefits for the Nation and State.

"Hopefully this collaboration will make a positive contribution, provide a sense of security and comfort at work, and of course remain dynamic in facing the existing dynamics," he hoped. (*)
