The Muntok Indonesian Tin Museum Becomes a Bonsai Exhibition Location, Residents Can See Bonsai Endemic to West Bangka

WEST BANGKA -- The Indonesian Tin Museum (MTI) Muntok became the location for the Bonsai Exhibition in commemoration of the 289th Anniversary of Mentok City. The Bonsai Exhibition which carries the theme 'My Bonsai Sustainable Bonsai With a Million Enchantments' displays various bonsai.

The bonsai exhibition which will be held at MTI Muntok managed by PT Timah Tbk will be held on September 7-10.

The Chair of the Exhibition Committee, Eka Octavianto, who is also the Head of the Sustainable Bonsai Community, chose the MTI Muntok area because it has high historical value and is strategically located.

"The exhibition was held at the MTI location because it has a historical value from the European cluster, also regarding the Mentok City Anniversary, besides that it is also a strategic location in the heart of Mentok city," he explained.

According to him, the Bonsai on display are endemic plants typical of West Bangka, which are expected to attract tourists visiting West Bangka.

"Hopefully these bonsai artists can work more creatively because this is an endemic plant typical of West Bangka. This activity can also attract tourism, especially plant lovers who can come to the exhibition site. As we know, there are quite a lot of bonsai lovers in Indonesia," he said.

He appreciates that PT Timah Tbk has supported this bonsai exhibition and hopes that this activity can become an annual routine agenda.

"We would like to thank PT Timah Tbk and the museum for their support in providing venue facilities. We hope that a bonsai exhibition will be held every year," said Eka.

One of Edwar's fans expressed his support for the creativity of the bonsai plant community.

"With this Bonsai exhibition, it adds to the enthusiasm of the community, young people, especially lovers of the art of arranging these bonsai plants," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of the West Bangka Tourism and Culture Office, Muhammad Ali said the Bonsai exhibition could attract tourist visits to the museum.
