WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk's Micro Small Business Funding Program (PUMK) does not only target MSME players. But also targeting cooperatives.
The existence of a cooperative that has an interest in the welfare of its members also needs to be independent in running its business units. So that PT Timah Tbk also provides capital loans for the development of cooperatives.
One of the cooperatives that have taken advantage of PT Timah Tbk's PUMK program is the Melati Cooperative in Sungai Baru Village, Muntok District, West Bangka Regency.
Initially, the Melati Cooperative took advantage of the PUMK program, a member of the Indonesian mining holding, to increase the savings and loan business capital for members.
Thanks to that capital, slowly but surely the Melati Cooperative continues to grow and its members continue to grow. Currently the members of the cooperative reach 258 people.
The Chairperson of the Melati Cooperative Tamalena said that the PUMK loan provided by PT Timah was used to increase savings and loan capital and develop the Melati Cooperative shop business.
"Thank God, the Melati Cooperative shop business thanks to PT Timah's PUMK funds continues to grow, now it can back up ATK services at PT Timah's Unmet," he said.
According to Tamalena, PUMK PT Timah has really helped her develop the cooperative business she leads.
"The cooperative feel helped by PT Timah's PUMK program. In addition to cheap interest, humane service, long repayment period, and getting the loan in full," he explained
He hopes that PT Timah can maintain PT Timah's PUMK program.
"We feel comfortable being partners with PT Timah. We hope that this program can be maintained because it really helps our economy," he hoped.
