As part of its corporate social responsibility, PT Timah has a long track record of supporting the education sector through various initiatives, including providing school facilities, donating assets to educational institutions, and offering sustainable scholarship programs.
Late last year, as a member of MIND ID's Mining Industry Holding, PT Timah provided desks and chairs to SDN 21 Gantung in East Belitung Regency.
The company has also donated laptops to schools, such as TK Pelangi in Baskara Bakti Village, Namang District, Central Bangka Regency, and SMA Negeri 1 Mentok in West Bangka Regency. Additionally, it has supported early childhood education institutions like TK Pertiwi Sungailiat, PAUD Sawang, PAUD Cenderawasih in West Bangka, and SD Negeri 10 Sijuk.
PT Timah extends its contributions to religious education infrastructure, including support for TPQ Al-Amin, Rumah Tahfiz Al-Qur'an Madani, TK/TPA, Tahfiz Masjid Al A'laa, and Yayasan Ma'had Tahfiz Hidayatul Qur'an.
Beyond providing facilities, PT Timah has donated company assets to enhance educational institutions, benefiting schools and universities alike, such as Polman Bangka Belitung and Universitas Bangka Belitung, to improve learning environments.
To foster high-quality human resources, PT Timah also offers educational scholarships. These programs target outstanding students from various levels of education, especially those from low-income families.
PT Timah's scholarship program has been running since 2000, with 851 alumni graduating from the Pemali Boarding School program. Many recipients have achieved significant accomplishments, inspiring their communities.
Additionally, PT Timah supports programs such as Timah Mengajar, Gernastastaka, and Kelas Inspirasi, which have become integral to strengthening education in Bangka Belitung, Riau Islands, and Riau Provinces.

Eflina, Principal of SMA Negeri 1 Pemali in Bangka Regency and a partner in the Pemali Boarding School program, highlighted the scholarship selection process. “In addition to academic performance, students must be highly motivated. PT Timah ensures recipients receive comprehensive mentorship and training to become ethical leaders and entrepreneurs,” she said.

Dedi Wijaya, a member of the West Bangka Regency DPRD Commission 1, commended PT Timah for its education initiatives, emphasizing its role in motivating students to pursue higher education.
