BELITUNG - 'Karya Nyata Festival Vol. 5.0' (KNF) held at Tanjung Pendam Beach, Tanjung Pandan District, Belitung Regency, was a lively event from Friday to Sunday (16-18/2/2024).
Local cultural performances, such as poetry and dances, enlivened the KNF activities on Saturday night, accompanied by a parade of fireworks and live performances by the local band 'Topan N Friendz' with their Reggae genre, attracting visitors to Tanjung Pendam Beach, on Saturday (17/02/2024).
Special Staff III to the Minister of SOEs, Arya Mahendra Sinulingga, also attended and visited the exhibition stands of SMEs in Bangka Belitung.
He stated that this event was initiated by the Ministry of SOEs to provide a platform for SMEs in various regions of Indonesia.
"The Ministry of SOEs provides space for SMEs to participate in exhibitions and festivals. This time we are doing it in Bangka Belitung, specifically in Belitung. Previously, we have done it in several other regions, such as Jambi, Medan, Padang, and Tangerang, and maybe next month we will do it in Pekanbaru, Riau," he said.
"This is part of Pak Erick Tohir's efforts to encourage the development of SMEs, and we hope that by doing this, our friends in Belitung can promote their products. Additionally, it can also be entertainment for the people of Belitung," he added.
He also hoped that the participation of SOEs in various regions could continue to drive the economy in those areas.
"Belitung is one of the UNESCO Geopark areas, and in terms of tourism, it is already quite good. Although we know that there has been a decrease in the number of tourists after the pandemic, this is one way to increase tourism and restore visitor numbers in Belitung to pre-pandemic levels," he said.
He mentioned that PT Timah, as one of the SOEs operating on Belitung Island, has supported the empowerment of the local economy.
"PT Timah, as one of the SOEs in Bangka Belitung, has significantly empowered the economy in Bangka Belitung, and we know that Bangka Belitung can thrive because of Timah. So, Timah's role is very significant for Bangka Belitung," he stated.
"We hope that in the future, PT Timah can continue to grow and advance because we know that Timah is needed by the world indefinitely. And hopefully, PT Timah can advance Bangka Belitung and Indonesia as well," he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of CSR Division of PT Timah Tbk, Rahmat Taufik, stated in his speech that this event provided a platform for SMEs to showcase their products.
"Thank you for the enthusiasm of the people of Belitung for this event. Hopefully, with this event, the SME world in Bangka Belitung can be even more vibrant, bringing out quality products that can compete nationally and internationally," he said.
"Moreover, this event is also a way for SOEs to develop young talents, as this event is an idea from the CEOs and CFOs of SOEs, aimed at developing SMEs throughout Indonesia," he concluded. (*)
