KARIMUN – Riau Islands Student Families (KPMKR) took advantage of the 2024 Homecoming Fun with BUMN program facilitated by PT Timah to return home to their hometowns to welcome Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah.
A total of 48 students from Yogyakarta, Bandung, and Jakarta taking part in the 2024 Homecoming Fun with BUMN facilitated by PT Timah arrived at 'Bumi Segantang Lada' on Sunday (31/3/2024).
These students have been traveling since Friday (29/3/2024) using land and sea transportation. Previously, PT Timah often collaborated with KPMKR to organize free homecoming.
Through this Fun Homecoming with BUMN 2024, it not only facilitates students being able to return to their hometowns.
Anugrah Arbeno Dian Perdana (23), one of the students at AMIKOM University Yogyakarta who took part in this homecoming, said that this homecoming together was also a place to stay in touch and increase relations between them.
"With activities like this, we can get to know friends from Batam, Natuna, to Lingga. "Because it's not only Jogja who are taking part, but there are also people from Bandung and Jakarta who are joining as a group so they can get to know each other and build relationships," said the Chairman of KPMKR.
"This homecoming activity helps us students, especially with economic factors. "Previously, there was a colleague of ours who had absolutely no intention of going home because he was constrained by costs, but with the free homecoming program from PT Timah, he was finally able to go home," he said.
He prayed that PT Timah would continue to exist so that it could continue this program. Because it is considered very helpful for students who want to return to their hometowns.
"Hopefully activities like this will continue to exist, and in the future not only the homecoming flow will be facilitated, but the return flow can also be facilitated by PT Timah," he hoped. (*)
