PANGKALPINANG -- The celebration of PT Timah Tbk’s 49th Anniversary, carrying the theme “For the Red and White,” was marked with vibrant festivities through the Healthy Week program, held simultaneously across six of the company’s operational areas since July.
The Healthy Week successfully drew tens of thousands of enthusiastic participants from all walks of life — employees, families, business partners, and the general public — all joining in the joy and togetherness of PT Timah’s anniversary celebration.
The series of events began on Kundur Island in Riau Islands Province, then continued to Belitung Island in East Belitung Regency, Muntok in West Bangka Regency, Belinyu in Bangka Regency, Toboali in South Bangka Regency, and finally Pangkalpinang City.
The program was warmly welcomed by the public, with around 75,000 residents across six locations taking part in the festivities. Some participants even showcased their creativity by joining the activities in unique costumes.
Healthy Week featured a variety of social and sports activities, including a fun walk, mass zumba, MSME bazaars, blood donations, free health checkups at PT Timah’s Mobile Clinic, and community entertainment.
As part of MIND ID, the state-owned mining industry holding, PT Timah also distributed thousands of prizes at these locations, including dozens of motorcycles as the main giveaways.
This year, Healthy Week became one of the highlight events of PT Timah’s anniversary celebration. Beyond creating a festive atmosphere, the program also promoted healthy lifestyles and strengthened the company’s bond with the community.
The event not only fostered togetherness but also boosted the local economy. The MSME bazaars at each location brought real economic benefits to local entrepreneurs.
Deputy Regent of South Bangka, Debby Vita Dewi, expressed her appreciation for PT Timah’s initiative, highlighting its impact on both community spirit and local economic growth.
“Thank you, PT Timah, for holding this event. Our people are happy, they feel the benefits, especially for MSMEs, and it has helped drive our local economy,” she said.
She also shared her hopes for PT Timah’s continued success. “We know PT Timah is always present in the community and works hand-in-hand with local governments. I am moved and proud, because this event truly brings joy to our people with so many prizes. I wish PT Timah continued success so it can keep working with us for the benefit of our communities,” she added.
Echoing this sentiment, West Bangka Regent Markus also extended his appreciation. “Happy 49th Anniversary to PT Timah Tbk, and thank you for your contributions to the people of West Bangka. We hope PT Timah will continue to increase its positive impact for the community in the years ahead,” he said.
PT Timah’s Department Head of Corporate Communication, Anggi Siahaan, emphasized that Healthy Week has become a regular agenda designed to share happiness and foster harmony with the community.
“We are grateful for the support and enthusiasm of the people. Healthy Week is not just about sports — it’s also a space to strengthen ties between the company and the community,” said Anggi.
“PT Timah always strives to be present, not only through corporate social responsibility programs, but also through activities that build stronger emotional connections. Healthy Week is a true reflection of how the company grows together with the community,” he added.
With the success of Healthy Week across six locations, engaging tens of thousands of participants, PT Timah hopes the program will continue in the coming years as a celebration of health, unity, and shared prosperity. (*)
