PANGKALPINANG -- The Month of Service series welcoming the 48th anniversary of PT Timah is also taking place in Riau Province and Riau Islands Province which will take place from June-July 2024.

The Month of Service activities to welcome the 48th anniversary of PT Timah which were held in the Riau Islands Province were centered in Karimun Regency, while in Riau Province they were held in the Meranti Islands Regency.

PT Timah's Month of Service in Karimun Regency includes blood donations and free health checks via Mobil Sehat. In Karimun Regency it will be held on Monday (1/7/2024).

Meanwhile, in Kepualau Meranti Regency, mass circumcisions and tree planting were carried out to welcome PT Timah's 48th anniversary which was held at the Nusantara Meeting Building, Rangsang District, Meranti Islands, Saturday (29/6/2024). A total of 56 children took part in this mass circumcision.

A total of 63 bags of blood were collected during this Month of Service activities. Apart from that, as many as 99 residents in Hamlet II Mata Air Kundur Village took advantage of free health services at Mobil Sehat.

People from these two provinces enthusiastically took part in a series of activities to commemorate PT Timah's 48th anniversary.

The Head of Rangsang Setu Subdistrict expressed his gratitude for the activities held by PT Timah in their area.

"This is a gift from ALLAH SWT, PT Timah has finally brought back this positive activity since 2019 and is now here again in 2024, hopefully in the future every year or month you can visit us by holding activities that can help the regional economy," he said.

Meanwhile, PMI Karimun Regency Blood Transfusion Technician Mardian appreciated the blood donation activity initiated by PT Timah because it could increase blood supply.

"Thank you PT Timah for carrying out blood donation activities to meet the need for blood in Karimun Regency and the enthusiasm is quite high," he said.

According to him, having blood donation activities like this can help donors who want to donate blood but are hampered by distance.

"With this blood donation, it will at least help employees at PT Timah to donate blood if they want to go to PMI far away, especially between islands. Maybe there are time and distance limitations. This way it can make it easier for those in the Perayun area to change," he said.

One of the blood donor participants, Herizon, said that Kundur area employees were enthusiastic about participating in this blood donation.

"Employee enthusiasm was very good in carrying out blood donations, dozens of blood bags were collected. Hopefully, PT Timah can continue to provide benefits to the community," he said. (*)
