Supporting Youth Organizations and Creative Communities, PT TIMAH Tbk Encourages Youth Independence and Creativity

PANGKALPINANG -- PT TIMAH Tbk continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting the development of human resources through various coaching and empowerment programs for youth groups in its operational areas.

The empowerment initiatives carried out by PT TIMAH Tbk target a wide range of youth groups, including youth organizations (karang taruna), youth communities, creative groups, and youth organizations.

Through a sustainable approach, PT TIMAH Tbk not only provides facilities and infrastructure assistance, but also mentoring and training tailored to local potential and needs. For example, the company supports inter-youth sports tournaments, environmental activities, and arts and cultural festivals for youth groups.

These programs are part of the company’s efforts to create economic independence, improve skills, and encourage active youth participation in community development.

One of the youth groups receiving support from PT TIMAH Tbk is the Daun Simpor Organization in West Bangka. This organization focuses on culture and digitalization, with its main target being cultural education in schools.

“The assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk will be used to develop cultural programs and promote West Bangka tourism through digital content, such as short videos and animations. We hope PT TIMAH can continue to collaborate in strengthening and introducing local culture,” said Daun Simpor Organization representative, Gilang Halifit.

Similarly, the Chairperson of the Pangkalpinang Youth Creative Community and Founder of Pondok Kreasi, Zulharansyah, explained that the community processes recycled waste into environmentally friendly products with economic value.

“The assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk was used to improve facilities and infrastructure, one of which was the construction of a production workshop. The presence of this workshop also has a significant impact on reducing waste through education at the recycled waste bank,” explained Zulharansyah, as quoted from previous reports.

In Karimun Regency, PT TIMAH Tbk also supports youth in preserving the tradition of lampu colok during the month of Ramadan. Zamroni, a youth from Sawang Selatan Village, said that the assistance from PT TIMAH Tbk is very meaningful for them in participating in the lampu colok festival.

“With this assistance, the needs for building the lampu colok gate can be fulfilled so that the activities we carry out can run as planned,” he said.

In South Bangka, PT TIMAH Tbk also supports the Youth Creative Community (Pepaya Creative) in Rias Village, South Bangka Regency, which has continued to grow and become more established after receiving support from PT TIMAH Tbk.

“Now the workshop space is larger, and with equipment such as compressors and proper exchange tools that meet specifications, we are confident in accepting jobs and even offering our services to consumers,” said Iwan Sanjaya, Chairperson of the Pepaya Creative Community. (*)
