BANGKA -- To support youth creativity and boost the local economy, PT Timah supported the Specta Culinar event organized by Jt Creative at the Taman Sari area in Sungailiat, Bangka Regency.
Specta Culinar was held from May 16–18, 2025, at Taman Sari, Sungailiat. The event featured a culinary festival with a variety of exciting activities, including a food bazaar, cooking demos, entertainment, and sharing sessions about culinary topics with local influencers from Bangka Belitung.
Jt Creative is a community of young people in Bangka Belitung involved in various creative events. Specta Culinar is their first major activity and is planned to be held in several areas across Bangka Belitung.
The event, held on PT Timah’s asset area, involved 61 MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) showcasing their products in the bazaar, including PT Timah’s fostered business partners. It served as a platform for MSMEs to display and market their flagship products, ranging from culinary items and handicrafts to fashion and other creative goods.
PT Timah’s support for this event is a tangible form of synergy with youth communities in creating productive and innovative spaces while driving the local economy.
Collaborating with youth groups is one of the company’s strategies to strengthen the local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through events like this, young people are not just spectators but active players in economic recovery and development efforts.
Specta Culinar Coordinator, Pandu Putra, said that they deliberately chose Taman Sari Sungailiat to help revitalize the area and provide a platform for MSMEs to promote their products.
"This is a unique culinary event because we’re not just hosting a food bazaar, but also talking about culinary culture itself. We’re holding sharing sessions with culinary entrepreneurs and influencers, along with cooking demos, mukbang contests, and many other fun activities," said Pandu.
He noted that as the community’s economy has yet to fully recover, they are trying to develop an innovative and creative ecosystem to reignite local economic activity.
Pandu also appreciated PT Timah’s support, stating that the company has consistently provided space for youth creativity through various initiatives.
"This event is supported by PT Timah, which provided the venue and other assistance, including the participation of their fostered MSMEs. Thank you to PT Timah, and we hope they continue to provide creative space for young people, support youth expression, and help bring creative ideas to life that can advance the region," he said.
