A total of eight places of worship received aid from PT Timah during the Holy Month of Ramadan 1446 Hijri. The assistance was distributed across East Belitung, Belitung, West Bangka, and the Riau Islands Province.
Some of the beneficiaries include Masjid Al Hidayah Keranggan in West Bangka, Musala Pesantren Tahfizul Al Kausar Kundur, Masjid Nurul Jami in Perayun Village (Kundur), and Musala Al Falah in East Belitung. The aid consisted of renovating worship facilities and providing essential amenities for mosques and prayer halls.
This initiative is part of PT Timah’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program, aimed at supporting religious activities and enhancing worshippers' comfort.
Sapi'i, Chairman of Masjid Al Hidayah, stated that PT Timah’s assistance would be utilized to build a mosque terrace.
"We recently completed the renovation of our prayer hall into a full-fledged mosque. The original Musala was built in 2010, but it had deteriorated significantly. As the management, we decided to renovate it into a proper mosque," he explained.
He added that by December 2024, the main building would be completed. However, additional work, including the terrace, ablution area, and fencing, was still pending.
To complete these remaining sections, they requested assistance from PT Timah, specifically for the terrace construction.
"Thank you, PT Timah. We hope that similar support will also reach other mosques and places of worship. May this initiative continue, as it truly makes a meaningful impact," he expressed.
Similarly, Maulana Febriansah, a representative from Pesantren Tahfizul Quran Al Kausar, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to PT Timah for supporting the renovation of their prayer hall.
"We sincerely thank PT Timah for its generosity and attention towards us. We always pray for blessings, progress, safety, and success for PT Timah. InshaAllah, this funding will be used to renovate the prayer hall at Tahfizul Quran Al Kausar Islamic Boarding School," he said. (*)
