KARIMUN -- PT Timah Tbk demonstrated its commitment to strengthening the people’s economy by enhancing the capacity of “Merah Putih” Cooperative management in Karimun Regency.
In collaboration with the Department of Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises, Trade, and ESDM of Karimun Regency, PT Timah supported the implementation of the Institutional Management and Business Development Technical Guidance (Bimtek) for the management of “Merah Putih” Cooperatives in Karimun Regency.
The event, opened by Karimun Regent Iskandarsyah, PT Timah Tbk’s Head of Administration Division Eko Yorifaruza, and Head of the Karimun Regency Department of Cooperatives, Micro Enterprises, Trade, and ESDM, Basori, was held at Nilam Sari Hall on Wednesday (July 13, 2025).
This training featured speakers from the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs as well as the Karimun District Attorney’s Office. Participants included supervisors and management members of “Merah Putih” Cooperatives from villages and sub-districts across Karimun Regency.
Karimun Regent Iskandarsyah appreciated PT Timah’s support, which aligns with the government’s program to strengthen cooperatives as a pillar of the people’s economy.
“Cooperatives are an important pillar of the community’s economy. Through this training, it is expected that cooperative management can run institutions professionally and develop competitive businesses. The presence of state-owned enterprises like PT Timah is also part of the support for President Prabowo Subianto’s program,” he said.
Head of the Karimun Regency Department of Cooperatives, Basori, emphasized that PT Timah’s role has extended beyond cooperative development to include empowering MSMEs and supporting various other sectors.
“The collaboration we have built has been very good, and we hope this synergy will continue to be strengthened to enhance the capacity of cooperative and MSME players in the region,” he explained.
Sobri, a member of the “Merah Putih” Cooperative management in Pamak Sub-district, said that this training has provided a positive boost for cooperatives to grow healthier and more independently.
“The presence of PT Timah, as part of the state’s financial system, has greatly helped make this activity possible. We hope PT Timah will continue to play an even greater role in supporting cooperative development in the future,” he said.
Over two days, the training will provide participants with knowledge on good cooperative governance, business development strategies, and strengthening the role of supervisors to ensure transparency and accountability.
PT Timah’s support for the “Merah Putih” Cooperatives is in line with the government’s efforts to build a strong people’s economy from the village to the national level, and serves as concrete proof of the contributions of state-owned enterprises in advancing community welfare.
