KARIMUN -- PT Timah Tbk remains committed to advancing education in Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province. Beyond supporting educational facilities, PT Timah Tbk also aids in enhancing the quality of educators through the Timah Teaching program.
The Timah Teaching program is PT Timah Tbk's initiative to enhance the competence of teachers in the company's operational area.
In this round of the Timah Teaching program, PT Timah Tbk provides training for 50 teachers from Elementary (SD), Junior High/MTs, Senior High/MA, and Vocational High Schools in Kundur Barat and Kundur Utara Sub-districts. The training takes place at Wisma Timah Kundur from Wednesday to Friday (January 3-5, 2024).
During the program, teachers receive instruction on improving skills in writing popular scientific works as part of their professional development. PT Timah collaborates with a literacy community from Pangkalpinang as the resource person.
Atika from MTs Umul Quro in Kundur Barat expresses her enthusiasm for the Timah Teaching program, stating, "This program is excellent and provides us with learning opportunities in creating scientific works, motivating ourselves to enhance our skills in delivering knowledge to our students."
Sugianto, Head of the Education and Culture Office in Karimun Regency, appreciates PT Timah for its concern for education in the region. PT Timah Tbk has several educational programs, including scholarships for outstanding students, direct assistance to fishermen's children, and teacher training.
"May this program help improve the skills and abilities of teachers, thus supporting the enhancement of education quality in Karimun Regency. Hopefully, in the future, there will be high-achieving students from Karimun Regency at the national level," he says.
