WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah Tbk continues to establish synergy and harmonization with community groups. One of them is the All Indonesian Fishermen's Association (HNSI) West Bangka Regency.
Collaboration carried out by PT Timah Tbk includes supporting the improvement of fishing gear for HNSI members, sinking FADs, and supporting the West Bangka Regency HNSI work program.
Chairman of HNSI West Bangka Regency Andri Sagita said PT Timah Tbk often shows its concern for fishermen groups, including HNSI.
"In addition to providing assistance for organizational activities, PT Timah Tbk often involves HNSI in various activities such as sinking coral reefs and planting mangroves," said Andri Sagita after receiving assistance from PT Timah Tbk, on Wednesday (29/11/2023).
Andri said that many West Bangka HNSI programs collaborated with PT Timah Tbk. This member of the MIND ID Mining Industry holding once provided fishing gear assistance to fishermen.
"PT Timah Tbk also often contributes to the community, not only to fishermen groups. For example, assistance with firefighting, road repairs, dredging of river mouths to make it easier for fishermen to deliver their catch, assistance with religious facilities," he said.
He appreciated the support of PT Timah Tbk which has consistently helped communities around the mine.
"We at HNSI would like to thank PT Timah, we hope that HNSI and PT Timah can work together in helping fishermen," he said.
Likewise, the Belo Laut fishing community leader Bahtiar confirmed what the chairman of the West Bangka HNSI said.
"PT Timah makes it easier for fishermen to deliver marine products by improving fishermen's road access to the sea. Apart from that, it also helps normalize the flow of the Binting River estuary, which is the transportation for fishing boats in Belo Laut," he explained. (*)
