WEST BANGKA -- Supporting and stimulating the tourism sector in West Bangka Regency, PT Timah Tbk collaborated with the 116th TMMD to build facilities in the Tebing Village Agrotourism Tourism Area.
PT Timah Tbk built facilities such as public toilets in the Tebing Village agro-tourism area to increase the comfort of visitors when traveling here. This tour, which is located in the rice fields area, has a charming appeal.
Previously, the Tebing Village Government collaborated with the Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis) of Tebing Village, Kelapa District, West Bangka Regency to build an agro-tourism area located in the rice fields of Tebing Village.
Head of the Tebing Village Tourism Awareness Group, Angga Saputra, said the idea of ??making rice fields an agro-tourism area was the wish of the village youth and Pemdes to explore the potential that exists in Tebing Village.
"This idea came from Pokdarwis to explore the potential that exists in the village, one of which is to arrange the rice field area so that it is attractive and becomes a place for entertainment that people visit. Moreover, the rice fields are located on the side of the road, it is hoped that road users can see firsthand the natural panorama which is still beautiful," explained Angga.
Angga said that the management of this tourist area was still self-managed, so there were still many deficiencies that had to be met in order to turn rice fields into tourist attractions.
"We are very grateful to PT Timah Tbk for helping to complete public toilet facilities in this tourist area. It is hoped that these toilets can increase the comfort of visitors who travel here," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of Tebing Village Saimi said, seeing the potential of Tebing Village which continues to grow, his party is optimistic that it can develop rice field Agro Tourism.
"The strategic location on the side of the main road is expected to attract tourists to visit agro-tourism, perhaps this is the first in West Bangka. Apart from that, to increase public interest, there will be a traditional party after the harvest," he said.
According to him, the toilet assistance from PT Timah Tbk is not only used by visiting tourists but also by farmers in the rice fields.
"This assistance is very important as a means of supporting agro-tourism, hopefully, PT Timah Tbk can continue to progress," he said. (*)
