WEST BANGKA -- PT Timah continues to support the achievements of athletes in West Bangka, one of which is Archery athletes by facilitating a training ground in PT Timah's Processing and Smelting Division.
West Bangka Archery Athletes who are members of the TAC Unmet Archery Team are actively training to take part in various competitions at both regional and national levels.
Timah Archery Club (TAC) Arrow Coach Unmet Armus said the training was carried out in the context of the Central Timah Archery Club (TAC) championship in Pangkalpinang.
"Now we are training in preparation for the Timah Archery Club (TAC) Central Open on September 13-16. 15 West Bangka athletes will compete, both junior and senior athletes, our target is to become the overall champion in this competition," he said.
Armus said that PT Timah had contributed to the development of archery in West Bangka
"We would like to thank PT Timah for building training facilities for archery athletes, apart from being the main sponsor of the archery championship in the West Bangka regional government and other assistance," he explained.
Senior archer Sayyid, who competes in the U-18 and General national standard classes, said he was obsessed with achieving the best in the Timah Archery Club championship in Pangkalpinang.
"Our target is to be the best, first place. Our preparations continue to train with the guidance of the coach," said the bronze winner at the national archery championship in Batam.
The youngest TAC athlete, Muhamad Adam (9 years) admitted that his participation in the championship was thanks to the support of his parents.
"I took part in the competition because my parents told me to, later I will compete in the U-12 class," said Al Ikhlas IT Elementary School student Air Belo. (*)
