CENTRAL BANGKA -- To support the social and religious activities of the community in Batu Be Lubang Village, Pangkalan Baru District, Central Bangka Regency, PT Timah handed over assistance to the Baiturrahman Foundation to complete the construction of a mosque.
This assistance was handed over to the Chairman of the Baiturrahman Foundation, Subani, who was also witnessed by the Head of Batu Be Lubang Village, Ahirman, on Wednesday 14 August 2024.
"We are grateful to PT Timah considering that this assistance is really needed considering that the condition of this mosque is only 80 percent complete. "So we still have a lot to complete, both inside and outside the mosque," said Subani.
According to him, the assistance from PT Timah will be used to build toilets, because Batu Be Lubang Village is a tourist village so many tourists stop by, even just to use the restroom. Apart from that, it will also be used to expand the land and to add mosque accessories.
"Especially what we need right now is a toilet because there are still emergency toilets here, especially since many guests stop by the mosque at certain times, confused because the toilets are still not ready," he said.
Subani said that construction of this mosque had started in 2018 but had not been completed until now due to cost constraints.
This assistance is the second assistance after PT Timah previously provided assistance in the form of material goods for the construction of the mosque which was provided in 2019.
Head of Batu Be Lubang Village, Ahirman, said that his party appreciated the assistance from PT Timah which supported the construction of the mosque.
"We are constantly asking for help from PT Timah so that the Baiturrahman Mosque can be completed quickly and can be used optimally according to the needs of residents and the wider community," he said.
He hopes that PT Timah can always work together and collaborate with the Batu Be Lubang Village Government to provide benefits to the community through various programs. (*)
