KARIMUN -- PT TIMAH Tbk has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting the government’s efforts to reduce stunting by distributing supplemental food packages for toddlers and pregnant women in Teluk Uma Village, Tebing District, Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province.
This supplemental food assistance is part of PT TIMAH Tbk’s ongoing efforts to improve community health and help realize the Golden Generation 2045. A total of 28 children received supplemental food packages during the PT TIMAH Tbk Mobile Health Service activity held last week.
Previously, PT TIMAH Tbk has consistently supported stunting prevention programs across its operational areas, including providing training for posyandu (community health post) cadres, distributing additional food, and offering education for pregnant women and children through the Kemunting Program (Movement to Reduce Stunting).
Teluk Uma Village Head, Septiyadi Nugroho, expressed his appreciation for PT TIMAH Tbk’s efforts to collaborate in addressing stunting in the area, noting that their village has one of the highest stunting rates in Tebing District.
“We appreciate PT TIMAH Tbk’s efforts in helping the government reduce stunting, including by providing additional food for the community. Our village has a high stunting rate in Tebing District,” he said.
He added that PT TIMAH Tbk’s initiatives align with the programs they are currently implementing to combat stunting. Moving forward, he hopes that the collaboration will continue.
“We hope PT TIMAH Tbk will continue to collaborate and empower the surrounding communities to support stunting prevention efforts. For example, by developing freshwater fish ponds to provide nutritious food for children affected by stunting,” he said.
He also appreciated PT TIMAH Tbk’s Mobile Health Service, which provides free healthcare and was well received by the community.
Through its various Social and Environmental Responsibility programs, PT TIMAH Tbk remains committed to supporting the acceleration of stunting reduction in its operational areas. (*)
