BANGKA BARAT -- To support character education in the school environment, PT Timah also supports the Gema Ramadhan activity carried out by OSIS and Rohis Islam (Rohis) SMAN 1 Simpang Teritip.
Gema Ramadhan this year carried out several activities such as donations, social services, cleaning places of worship at each student's residence, distributing takjil, distributing groceries to the community and students, and breaking the fast together.
In order to support these activities, PT Timah Tbk provides financial assistance and groceries which will later be distributed to people in need.
Melky Mayfarel, Chief Executive and Student Council Chair of Simpang Teritip State High School said, the Gema Ramadhan activity is an annual agenda carried out by OSIS and Rohis which aims to strengthen friendship and help others.
"This activity was held for three days, aimed at instilling religious values ??in students, strengthening friendship, and helping fellow Muslim brothers," said Melky on the sidelines of the activity, Monday (17/4/2023).
He is grateful that this year PT Timah Tbk can participate in supporting the Gema Ramadhan activity that they are carrying out.
"Alhamdulillah, this year Gema Ramadhan is supported by PT Timah. We as organizers thank you. Hopefully, PT Timah will be more advanced and beneficial to the community," he explained.
The Islamic Spiritual Advisor of Simpang Teritip Public High School Armin hopes that the Gema Ramadhan Students activity can increase students' awareness of the surrounding environment.
"With the Gema Ramadhan activity, it is hoped that students will be able to socialize and care about the surrounding environment, through worship activities that have the nuances of Ramadan," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of SMA Simpang Teritip Agus Risnan Jaya expressed his appreciation to PT Timah for supporting the program at the school he leads.
"The purpose of this activity is to build student character, in accordance with the expectations of the curriculum for forming a Pancasila-minded student profile, this year there will be an increase in worship, to become a better human being," he said. (*)
